As a person who practices ahimsa, one is not permitted to keep cats and dogs in the house, they should roam about in the streets and fend for themselves. These animals are bred into captivity as slaves to humans need to comfort themselves with the sight of living animals among themselves in their houses. They should be left to go wild in Nature. Containing them in houses is disturbing the preservation of Creation in Nature. Thou must not kill. If you keep cats that kill birds and mice, it is you who is doing the killing knowing that they will kill as is their natural instinct. So that is not ahmisa. For perfect ahimsa, you must keep yourself to yourself and remain secluded from other living creatures that have a right to go about natural lives. Keeping birds in cages like parrots and budgies are also depriving these animals of their liberty in the name of conservation. To take the argument further, when one is urbanising one is killing wildlife and insects and worms, so the idea of all modern conveniences is adharmic for the same reason. The best way to be is not to have any connections with anyone, human or animal or even plants for even plants have a life, one should just harvest the fruits of plants to live on. We have overpopulated the world with humanimals by using up natural resources that biodiversity would otherwise have so that too is adharmic as it is not ahimsa to deprive all other creatures of food and water. This has caused the mass extinction of biodiversity in the past 100 years of economic development. Further preparing vegan foods requires a lot of energy and processing that again draws upon environmental resources which in turn impacts on biodiversity adversely. So going vegan is not the answer. We must learn to limit our greed for food, drink, petrol, gas, as all of these are finite resources and sooner or later they will run out so we will all perish anyway and die out as a species for Nature to then be able to regenerate itself as happened in the history of mankind following 6-8 mass extinctions of the past. When we vaccinate ourselves with anti-coronavirus jabs, we are killing the virus inside our bodies rather than developing natural immunity to it so that is not ahimsa either.
One should abstain from all things evil and this needs careful study of the nature of good and evil. Alcohol is evil because it destroys the minds ability to direct the body into Sanatan dharmic action so it must be avoided it being considerably worse than tobacco and cannabis which at least reduce stress without affecting the mind's ability to retain peace. There are three branches of free-will, satanic, rajasic and tamasic. Rajasic guna attribute is the middle preservation characteristic of an individual under an entity in the universe defined by HIndus as Lord Vishnu. All three gunas are libertarian but their impact on the environment are very different. Sattvic guna describes piety sentimentalism and promotes consumption so is equally as bad as tamasic guna attributes that buccaneer and plunder the environment in conjuction with their sattvic counter parts. Rajasic guna is also a demonstration of free will and is very rare and truly spiritual. Democracy is sattvic, dictatorship is tamasic Conservative Libertarianism is rajasic.
Conservative Libertarian eat non veg food, swear at people who damage Nature, even kill when dharma is threatened but are otherwise ahimsic. Sattvic are purely ahimsic and tamasic are brutes who murder to plunder. Rajasic are reactionary towards both sattvic and tamasic both of which are seen as evil in different ways. The three gunas exist in a sphere of Reality as parallel universes so to speak, with rajasic (good), sattvic (bad) and tamasic (ugly) residing at the centre, middle and periphery respectively. So it is not as simple as some people make good and evil out to to be.
The future of the Planet is very bleak unfortunately, but I have lived at a time that I have been able to acquire the knowledge to formulate my idea on Conservative Libertariansim, take it or leave it.
